Various projects, topics, and measurements
related primarily to amateur radio
The contents of this site are items that I have an interest in. I believe I have used good engineering judgement and analysis based on a good education (BSEE and MSEE degrees) and 35+ years as a technical engineer in the communications, medical, and instrumentation industries. I have tried to emphasize the engineering and technical aspects and to minimize opinions. It is difficult to anticipate the technical level of those viewing this site and if there are questions, comments, or errors please contact me.

Brief Bio:
My original interest in radio was sparked through my grandfather who was an EE professor at the University of Pittsburgh and had a basment full of radios. Additionally my father brought a Hallicrafters SX-28 home from Okinawa after WWII which we restored and I used as my first receiver. I was initially licensed in 1964, while in junior high school, as WN3BLE in the Pittsburgh, PA area and later as WA3BLE. I obtained my extra class license in 1967. I later held the non-vanity call AC0B and finally the vanity call of W0QE. I currently reside in Colorado.
